Suspicious Links
You might have noticed a suspiciously non-roman link in the sidebar on my blog. Never fear, my blog hasn't been infiltrated by trojan links or anything even so remotely exciting. While messing around with some "behind the curtain" settings, I discovered that blogger will let me blog in other languages. Since I'm trying to re-learn my Japanese this summer now that I have real time to dedicate to it, I thought that it might be good writing practice to start blogging in Japanese.
In the meantime, I also decided to try translating my blog using an automatic translation website. Big mistake. It turns out that Babelfish has no idea how to speak Japanese. It turned my rather elementary post about being late to work into a paragraph of english mishmash that contains stunning gems like, "Calling you obtained, every did and did not do!" Well, I can only hope that it sounds slightly more coherant to someone who knows more Japanese than babelfish.
